Privacy Policy
Shopping Cart (“the App”) is a lightweight mobile application that helps you calculate the total cost of purchases while shopping and keep a history of previous shopping lists on your device.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is treated. It is written for the current MVP described in the product requirements: a fully offline experience with no user accounts and no cloud synchronization.
1. Summary
- We do not create user accounts.
- We do not sync your data to our servers.
- Shopping lists, product details, totals, language preference, and currency preference are stored only on your device.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for advertising or analytics.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use the App, it may store locally:
- Shopping cart titles and dates
- Product names, prices, quantities, and optional extra charges
- Calculated cart totals
- App settings such as preferred language and currency display
This information is saved in a local database on your device so you can review past purchases later. It is not uploaded to external servers by the App.
3. Information we do not collect
The App does not collect or transmit:
- Name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Payment card or banking details
- Precise location data
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera content
- Advertising identifiers for tracking
- Analytics, crash, or usage telemetry to our servers
4. Accounts, cloud sync, and internet use
No user authentication or cloud synchronization is required. The App is designed to work offline. Any internet-related capability of the operating system or app runtime is not used by Shopping Cart to send your shopping data to us.
5. How your data is used
Local data is used only to:
- Show live shopping totals while you add products
- Save and display your shopping history on the same device
- Apply your language and currency display preferences
6. Data sharing
Because shopping and settings data stay on your device and are not uploaded by the App, we do not share that data with third parties.
7. Data retention and deletion
Your shopping history remains on the device until you delete individual carts in the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the App’s local storage on that device according to your operating system’s normal behavior.
8. Children’s privacy
The App is a general shopping calculator and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
Because data is stored locally, protection depends on your device security (passcode, biometrics, OS updates). We recommend keeping your device secured and up to date.
10. Third-party services
The current MVP does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or cloud backends for user content.
11. International users
The App may be used in multiple countries and languages. Regardless of location, shopping data created in the App remains on the device where it was entered.
12. Changes to this policy
If the App later adds features that change data practices (for example, optional cloud sync), we will update this Privacy Policy and the effective date above before those features collect or transmit personal data.
