Image to Text lets you extract text from photos using your device camera or photo library. We designed the app to process images on your device.

Information we collect

Image to Text does not collect, store, or sell your personal information on our servers. The app does not require an account.

How the app uses your data

• Camera and photos: When you choose to take a photo or pick an image from your gallery, the app accesses that image only to perform optical character recognition (OCR) on your device.
• On-device processing: Text recognition is performed locally using Google ML Kit on your phone. Images and extracted text are not uploaded to our servers.
• Clipboard: If you tap copy, the extracted text is placed on your device clipboard. The app does not read clipboard data from other apps.

Permissions

• Camera — to capture photos for text extraction.
• Photos / media — to let you choose existing images from your gallery.
• Internet — used by the app framework. Image to Text does not send your photos or extracted text to the internet for processing.

Data retention

Images and extracted text remain on your device only while you use the app. We do not retain your content on external servers.

Children

Image to Text is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party services

OCR is powered by Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. Google’s handling of on-device ML components is governed by Google’s policies and your device settings.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
